RIP Stephanie Tubbs Jones

Cleveland lost a powerful voice for it's people yesterday when 11th district Congresswoman Stephanie Tubbs Jones passed away from a brain aneurysm at age 58, right on the cusp of next week's Democratic Convention.

Eulogies and remembrances are all over the web, so I won't repeat or paraphrase them here. Instead, I will simply post two videos from her appearances on The Colbert Report. I've always been a strong believer that there is no situation that cannot be improved by a healthy dose of humor and self deprecation, and her appearances show that Tubbs Jones definitely believed this as well.

This is freakin' incredible!

Another example of what we can look forward to as video processing merges with some really nifty programming. They can take lo-res video of a scene, shoot some additional, higher resolution still photos, and combine the two to get the best of both worlds - including 3d space compensation. Incredible!

Has it really been a year and a half?

I can't believe I haven't posted anything in over a year! I really should try to update this more often, don'tcha think?

Anyway, I came across this article from Cory Doctorow (www.boingboing.net) and thought the same thing - "Has it really been 10 years since Napster's debut?" Cory's opinions on this anniversary mimic what I've been telling anyone who would listen as well, so what better way to resume blogging than with a reference his article.
