$#@*! My VCR didn't record last night!

So, your VCR's timer didn't kick in and you missed this week's episode of "Lost"? What's a "Lost" junkie to do? For that matter, what happens when you miss any of your favorite shows? It seems everyone has had a similar conversation - "Hey John, did you tape [fill in TV show here] last night? Can I borrow the tape?" Well, we're living in the age of the internet, so there's no longer any need to borrow tapes of missed shows from friends. Simply get it off the internet and watch it at your convenience! If you've missed a show, it's a relatively simple process to find and get the show on your computer. First, you'll need to find the show. There are sites that I use frequently to obtain the show. TV Torrents and TV Swarm are usually pretty current and fast. Once you've found the episode(s) that you want, you'll need to have a BitTorrent program to download the show. If you're not familiar with BitTorrent, Slyck has a great guide to BitTorrent. You'll also need to get and install a BitTorrent program (or "client"). I use BitComet, but there are many to choose from. So now that you have all that you need to obtain missed shows, never miss an episode due to VCR failure again!

To view your episodes, you'll need to watch them on your computer. There are ways to get the show to your TV, but thanks to the copyright police, it's a bit more difficult to accomplish than it should be. One of the best solutions is to use a modified XBox game console to view your media. An XBox, along with XBox Media Center software, is how I view content downloaded from the internet.
